The trade volume of Aircrafts, Space crafts and parts thereof (HS Code – 8b) between India and the UK has been varying since 2001. It currently stands at GBP 226.13m for the year 2009, which is almost twice the amount in 2001. The bilateral trade in 2009 fell by 20.42% compared as compared to the figure in 2008, when the bilateral trade was at an all-time high of GBP 284.15m. In the total pie of trade, the UK has 67.7%share where as India has 32.3% share which is a significant improvement for India, since in 2008 it had only 6.9% share.
